Here at LP33, we got together to pick out our Bakers Dozen –the hot 13, if you will. This week we cover the hottest tattooed musicians. Note, these are coming from an array of perspectives, genders, and tastes. Feel free to contribute your own in the comments!
13. James Hetfield (Metallica)
So, I’m having trouble with this one. Is it because he rocks? Is it because he’s hot? Is it because he can (and will) rip your fucking face off? I’m not sure. What I am sure of is the Metallica front man is one sexy, tattooed music vet, and therefore lucky number 13. Or unlucky, depending on how you look at it. You’re evil. We like it.
12. Tyga
Hello, handsome. Compton grown cousin of Travie McCoy, Tyga has recently given himself a solid place on the charts map with the utterly ridiculous, disgustingly catchy, love-to-hate-hate-to-love track, “Bedrock”. Here’s raising a glass to a man who holds no resemblance to Fred Flintstone.
11. Ricky Hayberg
While you may not be familiar with this stud muffin, Ricky’s the one that keeps you in stylish band threads. Currently on tour with Good Charlotte, make sure you say hi to this tattooed hot rod at the Bamboozle Roadshow.
10. Tommy Lee
Perhaps not the picture of purity, he’s definitely a picture we like. Coming in at #10 is Tommy Lee, original member of Motley Crue and Methods of Mayhem front man. Perhaps even better known for his torrid love affairs and giant assets, Tommy makes us feel a little dirty, making him a shoe in for #10.
9. Tegan Quin (Tegan and Sara)
There is nothing hotter than a feisty, tattooed, unrelenting, rock goddess who knows how to work a guitar in ways that make you contemplate a sex change just to catch her eye. The fact that Tegan Quin’s arm tattoos quote Bruce Springsteen’s “The Human Touch” clamors she’s just looking for a good feeling in her bones. Not a traditional beauty, her intriguing blend of personality and doe-eyed good looks lands her the 9th spot on our list. 8. Chester Bennington (Linking Park) Cute with a conscience, Linkin Park lead singer, Chester Bennington comes in at #9. Known for being the most elegant screamer in rock, he had flames on his arms before it was considered cool and then uncool. Chester is one of the OG tattooed hot rock stars, and we <3 him. 7. Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) Billie Joe holds a soft spot in my heart, starting when I was an angry, angsty girl of about 12. Green Day carried me through my “rebellious” years quite nicely, with hits such as “When I Come Around” and “Brain Stew”. Now with their most recent release, 21st Century Breakdown, the trio have proven that you can be hot, tattooed, unabashedly punk, and a grown-up. 6. Michelle Branch Let’s face it, some would call Michelle Branch a MILF. This stunning singer-songwriter is known for churning out pop and country hits, and posting some of the most adorable pictures of her and her little one, Owen, on Twitter. With a new album coming soon, Michelle is one hot mama, and #6 on our hot tattooed musician chart. 5. Henry Rollins This one came as a request from in the office. When questioned, the answer I received was “he’s the picture of masculinity, testosterone”. Okay. Works for me. Perhaps he and James Hetfield run along the same lines – they rock, have hot tattoos, and will simultaneously eat your face. Henry Rollins vs. James Hetfield cage match? Excellent. 4. LIGHTS She looks like the girl who would rather sit at home and build miniature models for her videos then go under the needle, but lucky for all the rebellious high school nerds, LIGHTS does both. With multiple visible tattoos, this Canadian bombshell is redefining the stereotype of the female, tattooed musician. Her tunes are instant pop candy, yet her decorated ode to wonder woman wrapping her side and back screams she’s not as innocent as her sound. Her cutesy persona is an adorable alter ego, but the tattoos make us think she’s quite possibly the only woman out there who can pull off the mix of pure sexpot and hardcore nerd the way she does. 3. Rihanna With a voice that lingers on the edge on an orgasmic moan, Rihanna sports thirteen tattoos, including the image of a handgun, truly makes her a damn gorgeous good girl gone bad. Having split ties with her teenage innocence, she now taunts ‘rude boys’ commanding them to ‘rise’ to the occasion. Her latest collaboration with re-established rap genius Eminem, “Love the Way you Lie,” smolders with passionate anger solidifying this tattooed diva as the hottest Barbados’s babe this side of Antarctica. 2. Jess Origliasso (The Veronicas) Jess Origliasso of The Veronicas makes the second tattooed twin in the countdown. It appears that this duo makes a bit of a ying and yang, with Jess being the rock n roll badass, and Lisa being the sweetheart. Together, they make a fantastic and exceedingly hot pop group with catchy lyrics and a fantastically fun show. The girlfriend of Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan, Jess takes #2 as a tattooed bombshell. 1. John Mayer Oh John Mayer, what to do with you? One of the most notorious playboys in Hollywood, John Mayer makes our #1 spot for being the epitome of a sexy, brooding, sad-song-writing, uber hot, scandal ridden, tattooed musician. From clean cut one day to fully sleeved the next, John Mayer quite literally wears his heart on his sleeve. In his most recent release, Battle Studies, John pours his feelings on to the table with romantic ballads and sweet collabs with the pure at heart Taylor Swift, making him a vulnerable love target you just want to make feel better. In his most recent real life, John pours out words about ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson, making him the hottest dbag in music you just want to shut up. A fair mix, I’d say. So, this concludes this week Bakers Dozen. Have anything to add? Let us know below!
